Cassie's Cottage was pivotal in my daughter's road to sustained recovery from severe alcoholism. As her father, I could not have been more impressed with the management and staff's understanding of the addiction recovery process. They provided my daughter just the right blend of encouragement, guidance and practical supervision that she needed to stay on track following intensive residential treatment. Now, after a multi-year journey, she is doing beautifully.
The staff at Cassie's Cottage are warm, wonderful people. My daughter felt totally supported during her stay and then was ready to start a full time job. She just was sad when it was time to say good-bye!
-A happy, satisfied parent
I was resistant to go into sober living after leaving my treatment program because I didn’t want to be away from my children any longer than I had to. I am so grateful that with the help of my treatment team and push from family and friends I decided to go to Cassie’s. The community of other women in recovery, the safe place to live and focus on my sobriety and get my life back in order has offered me a new start at life and now my children have a healthy, sober mom. For that I am forever grateful.
I had already tried one rehab for my alcohol use disorder, and only stayed sober for three months after discharge. This second time around, my inpatient treatment team encouraged me to step down to a sober living facility, and Cassie’s came highly recommended.
Going to Cassie’s absolutely changed my life. I made close friends—something I had never really had before—and I really started working the steps with a sponsor to whom the Managers referred me. They also found me a therapist. I spoke with the Director and Owner whenever I had a question or concern, and they always made me feel heard. They did everything they could to make my time at Cassie’s count, and propel me forward. When I eventually transitioned to living independently, I continued to surround myself with the support group I developed at Cassie’s. I feel stronger in my sobriety than I ever thought possible, and I am so grateful to the warm, nurturing environment at Cassie’s that has made that possible. Thank you!!!
Hi all, Our daughter, our most precious possession, spent a month at High Watch Recovery in Kent CT. Highly recommended...but where does she go from there?...certainly not home after just 30 days...been there before, not enough time...we looked on the internet and also got referrals from High Watch...Cassie’s Cottage, Easton, CT was the perfect connection. Driver picked her up at High Watch, delivered our daughter and her belongings to Cassie’s...met by an awesome,
caring manager. She brought us to her office, read our daughter and us the rules...we three agreed! We met the other residents there, all suffering some sort of addiction but recovering! During her stay there, she attended required daily meetings, and attended outpatient aftercare at Silver Hill, a world-renowned recovery hospital! Our daughter had a job during her recovery and we think reclaimed part of her self-esteem which she had lost through trauma which she was medicating with alcohol. One year hence, which is when we decided to write this...she is thriving...back to the daughter we once knew!!! Not saying addiction is cured...it is “stalled” for now- Recovery is forever! We are thankful to God and Cassie’s Cottage.
Hi ladies. I’m the midst of all the chaos in our world- a piece of good news I want you both to know. I hit 1 year sober yesterday. I’m proud of myself but to me the day was one that called for quiet reflection. I just wanted to let you know and to thank you for being and for continuing to be a part of my journey back to me ❤ ❤ ❤
